what size is good for a raptor for excelent stability on the track, like +2 on each side or w/e. and where is a good place to shop for them. also a axle, what size works great on the track?

 

Rider1169,if your gonna be using your new raptor for a MX track your better off getting a 450YFZ.

 

I've got a set of ASR +2+1 a arms with a duralue x33 +5 rear axle. Its a great setup for me. The ASR arms really helped with handling. They arent the best on the market, but they are very nice for the price. The light durable is pretty strong, second only to the rpm imo. plus its half the weight, especially with the billet hubs. I got my a arms and axle from 2 different friends who luckily for me were parting out their bikes at the same time. There are some good vendors in the backs of the mags.

It depends on how hard you plan on riding. If you are going to be running large tabletops and triples, you will want to look at some of the more expensive options. A rpm race axle is lighter but requires a new bearing carrier and swinger. New a arms will probably require new shocks, triple rates with rezzies for mx. Rear could stand to be revalved as well.

 

thats a good point. If you want to run mx competitively, skip the rappy and buy a yfz. it would take a lot of money, as you can see in my post above, to make the rappy mx ready.

 

I Like Lonestar & Laegers I have the Laegers on my Banshee. You can git these from Nacs the Lonestar
+3 and they cost 734.95. And you can also get the Laegers from Nacs too and they are +2 and they cost 699.
And I also have the Dura Blue X33 and it is Adjustable from -2 to Plus 4" it is a Ok Axle but If I was to do it Again I would go with the Lonestar.
The X33 will cost 429.95 and the Lonestar will cost 369.95

 

well, i do mostly trail riding, but go to the track quite often, and i really want a raptor. but next year i want to get into racing possible, and want to make it wider so i can do decent. but raptor is what im going with, i just want to know what u guys have chosen on urs to make urs wider. as long as suspension, axle, and a-arms are about 2000 or under, i am getting it wider.

 

For under 2k you can get decent components.

Axle can run you up to 600
a arms can run up to 1k
front and rear shocks can cost as much as your quad did new.

Good setup:
Decent a arms - 500
Rear axle - 450
elka/tcs triple rate Front shocks w/ rezzies - 800
Re valve rear shock - 200

I would stay away from the lonestar axles and durablue heavy duty and eliminator axles. If you are going to buy new, buy a rpm if the wieght isnt a problem, db x33 if it is. The lonestars and durablues have more a tendency to break. Lonestar does have a better track record with replacing broken axles than db though.

 

If you want to get Wider A-Arms and a Wider Axle and better Suspension it is going to cost more the $2000.
I have $2644.40 in my Suspension on my Banshee.

 

wait, its like 600$ for elka fronts, like 500 i think for a rear, 300 for an axle, and 500-700 for a-arms, right?

 

Ok would you want the Elka Elite or race or sport Shocks? And what Axle do you want? And what A-Arms do you want?
