WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YAMAHA DO THIS? I cant belive you have to buy a new head to get a valve cover?!! WTF? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] Maybe I am missing something here....You HAVE to buy a new Head assembly, beacause now your NwW PORTED and MATCHED 686 head is useless, because the Valve cover is broken???? MAN you Rappy Guys are VERY loyal .[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]
I think you should sell that good parts off of that motor,and put you a 03' EFI R6 motor inyour rappy, for what it will cost you to replace your head. JMO.

yea, most all engines the head and cyl. head cover are a matched set because they are line bored together for the cam, so unless your cyl. head cover does not hold your cam in place it would be wise to replace as a mached set. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]
