Just wondering if any of you know if this is really true. www.tlcracing.biz has a pipe with jetting kit and filter for $695.00. I know thats expensive however if it really gives it that much horsepower it would be worth it to me anyway. Most of the other pipes cost around 500.00 with out the jetting and filter so its not alot different. Other than tlc the other pipes i`ve look at give the 450 anywhere from 4 to 9 hp. I think the dmc alien is alittle more. Let me know if any of you know any thing about tlc racing i think thats the pipe im gonna go with unless you guys know something bad about the company. Yeah I've seen those ads too. Its got to be a bogus deal. Theres NO WAY your going to gain 17hp from just a pipe/bolt-on. Its just not gonna happen.

Its probably advertising a 17hp gain at x rpm. The peak hp gain is probably lower. Check the wording.

 

Pipe companies advertise overrev instead of power differences at peak HP output too make their pipe seem better. After the engine has peaked, you do not wanna be too far over into your overrev anyway. It's needlessly beating on your engine....especially a 4 stroke.

I saw this ad also in Dirtwheels and i think everyone here is on the right track, its just advertising the overrev, or even what the HP's get to at the highest point, they just need to sell their items, compared to ALL the other companies out there, dont believe anything till u see it, ride it, and hear it...words i live by

 

Yeah i guess you guys are right about that. I knew it sounded unbelievable. Most all the other pipe makers i`ve read about claim 4 to 7 hp gain which sounds about right. If im not mistaken I think in the dirt wheels pipe shoot out for the yfz the white bro e series actually gave it the most hp gain but i may be wrong about that. I think the e series is the cheapest of them all also. Speaking of white bros i was considering getting an e2 pipe with the eseries head pipe have you heard anything about the e2. It suppose to have the same power as the e series just quiter and i have a track in my back yard so the quieter i keep it the less i **** the neibors off.

 

I've heard its a very respectable pipe, and like i was told when i asked about the best pipes, just search for one in your price range, one that loooks nice, and a sound that u can fall in love with, or annoy otheres with haha...good luck choosin...

 

I just checked their site again and all it says it 17.5 hp increase it doesn`t say at what rpm. I also noticed in thier ad they claim many natinal championships and i don`t even know one atv pro rider using them. I don`t see why dirt wheels even lets them claim something like that. I think they must build stuff for the harley dirt trackers though.

 

DirtWheels lets them claim that on their ad cuz...simply put, Dirtwheels sees the AD money so they dont give a $h*t what it says, it pays for their magazine...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
