A predator comes with a 11-1 piston, right? Think that makes up some of the difference of the 160 cc. BTW, Fidge, you ever get your motor back? You are big boring it with nitrous, right? Having a tough time with a yamaha?

I think the raptor will go unchanged for a few more years and then they will just do a slight makeover on it like they did the warrior. Also, even though its not a real reliable source of info your mighty predator finished behind the raptor in ATV Action magazine bigbore shoot-out.
Matter of fact if you think about it, Polaris really missed the mark with the Predator. Its displacement limits it to only the open mx class where the yfz and 450r will eat it alive, and if decide you want to turn it into a drag bike well then the raptor will hand it its a$$ pretty good when you start modding them both. It could be a good trail bike, but guess what it has no reverse. So what niche is polaris exactly trying to fill with the predator? I could see polaris either totally revamping the predator (probably to 450 class) or just droping it completely for a whole new model in the next year or two. Just my prediction

I'm with BigScary on this one....the Raptor will be in the 2003 line up, guarenteed.
Yamaha will not drop one of it's big 3, and if the Banshee does go after 2006, it's just because of new regulation's and sh*t like that. Nothing compares to the big 3, and yamaha won't change unless forced to.

The raptor isnt going anywhere anytime soon.
The warrior is the best selling sport quad of all time because it has been out longer than any other quad save the banshee. They were both introduced in 87.
The predator is a nice machine. Its people like you fidge that make them suck. Your 03 tranny didnt go bad? Hmm, maybe that means that not all 01 raptor trannys went.
The cdale and bomb came out the same year as the raptor, not after.
The warrior has been out 15 years, and this is only its second major change since it was introduced. We may have to wait a few more years on the raptor changes.

I guess they could logically, get rid of the "raptor name" keep the engine with the Fuel injected head that is on some of the 660 bikes in Europe and give it a hole new name, and a little change on the look. I would love to see a fuel injected head on the raptor.

I thought Yamaha was replacing the Warrior with a 350 Raptor. I don't own a Raptor, but have ridden them before. Can't see them doing away with them any time soon.
