raptor bearing carrier help!!!!!!!
My axle bearings went out... like usual. every yamaha i have every had the bearings go out in a matter of months. but on the raptor i took it all apart and of course the left bearing there was nothing left. and i noticed that the pipe that spaces the bearings or something is threaded on the left side. is it sapposed to be like that, cause it looks factory, but then again the bearing ***** were all thruout the carrier. i mean it went out, and it went in a matter of seconds. it ran fine, and there was no wobble or anything, and then all of a sudden there was a grinding noise and screatching and i shut it off right there and hauled it home and took it all apart and thats what i saw. the left seal was junk and the bearing was nothing left and the ***** were all over the inside of the carrier. ive had it with this raptor, i am gona put it back togeather and trade it in for a 250r i found.

Make sure and get those bearing races out. The reason why the bearings go out early is the axle nut comes loose undetected....allowing a way in for the elements. Makes for a fun evening beating the axle out of the carrier. The weight of the Raptor does not help either bearing life either.

raptor bearing carrier help!!!!!!!
it really depends on how long the seal lasts/works
pressure washers will blow water right past the seal,,,so wash carefully
if you ride in water a lot they will die sooner
I just replaced mine,,,went with the pivot works kit (convienience),,,and I packed a good bit of extra grease
There is no way to grease them once they are installed

The ball bearing grinding against the spacer tube can create a kinda threaded appearance.. deep threads though.
I run a bead around the inner diameter of the left in outer race, then use that as a purchase for my punch to get the rest out. The bead heats the race and releases it. Makes it cake.
Replace the spacer tube if they got that bad.
