Default flatened decompression pin

what would cause the decompresion pin to flatten in a stage two hotcam. I was using the harder pin supplied bu hotcams. The first pin was sheared off due to it binding in the cam so we clean the opening so it would move freely. could the vavle being to tight or two loose cause this. i looked at the other posts but didnt really get any answers. the pin had flattened about a 1/2 millimeter. the motor will still turn over but on the compression stroke sometimes it will stall. any ideas would be great for i dont have a clue.

When you installed the cam did you lube the little springs and weights on the cam gear? I found that they would hang up and not release the compression pin.

I had an idea when I hit reply, but I realised I was wrong before I posted.

There are only two reason that it can be flat. One is from wear, which doesn't sound like what you are saying. And two is from it sticking out when its not supposed to be.

Just going by memory I don't see how a tight valve could cause it.

i only have about 10 hours on the cam. I really dont think it was put in backwards because i would have noticed the power problem when riding it. thanks for the reply ward
