Well I am going to school in Las Cruces, but I haven't done any riding there. My home is in Silver City and there is riding all around that area. Right now I'm in Minnesota working a co-op though until August, here I ride pretty much where ever I want.

I haven't ever taken my ATV down to LC yet, I figure I will when I go back though. I've heard there are some good trails, and I think there is supposed to be some small sand dune somewhere. I do a lot of riding out at Saddle Rock (I can get way back in the canyons with the 4x4), up in the mountain (meadow creek), and in the burros, we go to the river out towards Cliff every once and a while too.

have you ever been to the gila through the saddle rock side??? i here there is some trails to drop down
by the old mine shaft... ive been close but never been to the river... they say it drops down right behind
the bird sanctuary.... im not sure though.... im headed down on easter weekend to ride some trails in the
mimbres... out off of Royal John Mine Rd... i have a ranch up there and the forest starts soon after that..
would be cool to go down to saddle rock .... my cousin has a 250r... tear it up a little down that way

I think the dunes were in Alamagordo, besides white sands. I'm going to bed, its almost 2 here, if you post more I'll get back to you tomorrow, I have a cousin in Albuquerque that might know some places if I can get ahold of him.

I've heard of going to the river but the one time we started that way it began raining so we turned around, ended up riding in a flash flood anyway. I was told you can't actually get right to the river, you have to walk about 300 yards or something. The way we were going was a fairly rough trail though.
