Default meth labs in mo.

I ride sometimes in a private development that has atv trails for miles. The trails go for miles in wooded country. I recently found a fire pit that was built in the middle of a trail that I was riding on. The pit was still smoking as I got deeper in the woods I discovered coffee filters, empty bottles of heat, coleman fuel, cut open lithium battery packs and some type of chemical on the ground that had killed vegetation. These are some of the few ingrediants to make meth. It is a darn shame that I guy goes off in the back country on a atv and you have to be in fear of stupid people. I will be taking my pistol on my next safari ride. I'm not going to let stupid drug users ruin my riding country. I'm a cop and I did notify other law enforcement who specialize in meth labs. But this drug problem is getting worse in missouri. We need help from everyone to fight this problem. Please help turn in anyone you see doing evil things while your riding in the back country. If someone supports drugs they also support terorism in this country in my book.

Please help,
Your friendly local cops

I live in the used to be meth capital of the world independence, mo. and it doesn't surpise me that the damn meth heads are now making the crap in the woods, where we ride. I have never come accross anything, but I will tell you it would **** me off. and the case where you found the stuff, the stupid meth freak couldn't even clean it up. Maybe they can get some fingerprints off of the materials and find the idiot who was making the crap. I just hope that me and my riding buddies dont come accross anybody in the act of making it, probably wouldn't find it in the middle of the day, but you never now about a meth head. Because the police would get notified after they got beat on a little. Good luck.

I think they are now calling Pekin, IL the meth capital of the world, and I live 15 minutes from there. I believe one of the papers even has a section just for meth busts. I know the effects of it too, my older brother has done it, he may still be doing it, and its not fun watching him ruin his life.

I was unable to pull any finger prints from the junk that was left. However that area is being watched closer. When I found the fire still burning. I bet they had just left the area and it was 08:00 am. Be careful where you ride. I have seen traps that dope heads use to guard their marijuana patches also. It's the same stuff the environmentalist are using in California. Some times I think St. Joe doesn't feel that boring esp. being in a controlled environment and you don't have to carry a gun. what is this world coming to.

Drugs = terrorism? In your mind, a guy that smokes a little weed is the same as a guy that blows up a bus full of kids?? Unless you are buying poppies/opium from the middle east, recreational drug use does not contribute one iota to terrorism. Maybe you could explain how a meth lab in the woods of Missouri supports terrorism, I just don't see the connection.

i am going to have to agree with ubetrun on this one, but there is a major difference between marijuana and meth. ive seen the effects of meth before, as most of buddies have experimented with it. hell even i have smoked a few hooters in my life, but the meth around here in NW arkansas is getting worse also. meth labs being built and busted in the same week. we have come across many trailors out on the middle of bum fuct egypt with coleman generators, i have no idea what they were doing, but i just left it. some people choose to ruin there lives, others dont. i say let them build there labs and blow them the hell up, or wake up 10 years down the road with a life that cant be fixed, i think that is far worse then any jail cell, as i have been in them too. but good luck eithier way themadwarriorride, and i hope you get your riding areas cleaned up.

Ya, most terriorism doesn't link to drugs...especially marijuana! Most marijuana is grown in the country and sold in the country, why would you wanna get weed from outside the country...it'll just be swag anyways! Around here I don't know of ANY weed that isn't grown here and if any is imported it's usually from California (humbult county) where is is also grown and not gotten from outside the country.

Meth is also becoming a problem over here, in the last 6 months we've had a couple big busts and one was not even a mile from my house!! Scary stuff! It's the decade for meth if you didn't know, every 10 years meth becomes a problem then it dies off, this is that decade.

I hope you catch thoe f*ckers themadwarriorrider!! Keep us updated!

i hear ya brother, I do alot of hunting in Pike county Mo. and also in lincon and franklin. we came across one lab in BK leach, conservtion area at 4:30am we must have scared them off because they left every thing. we called pike county sheriffs dept. and they lifted prints off the anhydrous bottles. on some of our private land in lincon we posted signs that read "meth heads will be shot on sight" and yes the sign reads true. I will agree that pot may not support terrorism but look at coke and other main stream drugs. how many coca plants have you seen in the US? I belive it is jefferson co. missouri that is the meth capital of the united states, all dealers should get a bullet in the head for making money off of destroying peoples lifes. ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!

I am not surprised that you are finding labs out in the woods because, Meth will surpass Crack & Cocaine in the near future, as the drug of choice because it's cheaper and easier to produce and you get the same type of high that lasts longer. In the past Meth cooking was pretty much done by biker gangs, now it can be done by anyone.

As most of you know the problem with meth is that it is so dangerous. Explosions are common when these knuckle heads are cooking and the chemicals can be lethal if inhaled. So be careful if you come across one of these portable labs, whether it's in the woods, an abandoned house or in the trunk of some car. Don't touch or smell anything and definitely do not smoke around it.

As far as terrorism goes sure drug use contributes to terrorism, just come up here to the Chicago land area and take a drive through the projects of Chicago or Gary and we'll see if the rampant drug use and drug sales causes you to fear for your life and safety. Terrorism doesn't only have to be a bomb set in a building by middle easterners, the definition of terrorism is, the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. Drug dealers use this all the time and if you didn't have drug users (Casual or hard core addicts) there would be no need for dealers.
