The reason the YFZ blew!

pudl,
Man...I am sorry that I was right, it was rod/piston related. Well...now we both have had the fun of a blown engine. Lets just talk about it over a few beers at my house.

But don't be suprised if you start seeing them drop like flies around you. I know our preddy's may have some kinks but not like this!!!

I just had to go to the dealer and see the carnage for myself!! WOW!! The rod was twisted and got stuck down in the crank. 2 valves got bent, and the wrist pin got totally ripped out of the piston and the whole bottom of the piston was pretty much gone, and distributed throughout the engine in thousands of little pieces. I took the wrist pin, and it seems odd that there isn't a roller berring around it, as polaris uses that. Anyway, it rolled freeley in the top of the rod, no friction or catching, even considering it just went through hell. There was also a major hole in my cylinder!! I want to find out what is the actuall cause of these YFZ's blowing engines! I want to get an aftermarket part to replace what is causing the problems! I race with Jerry, and I know Bartlett does his motorwork. I'm curious to hear what happened to his!!
