Any sprocket increase puts a strain on the engine, but 14 isnt bad. I never needed a larger front until I had cam, piston, pipe and filter. Even then it was only for a particular flattrack. If you really want to gear up that much (I cant imagine a useful reason why) then you really should reduce the size of the rear sprocket instead. Much less strain on the engine and you are less likely to have to buy a new chain.

Most stock and piped raptor owners go with a 12 tooth front or equivlent rear sprocket. A sprocket that big on the front puts a serious strain on the engine as well. Its better to change the rear sprocket some as well if not for the entire change.

first of all, don't be in a hurry. that will co$t you. research your parts carefully. i ended up putting a white bros e-series on, rejetted (gyt-r kit), new filter (gyt-r), removed the air-box lid, and put a 12-tooth front sprocket on. it is a new machine. you won't believe the difference.
