I was at the Craycraft shop today. There are some sweet projects nearing completion. One was a 730 with everything in it. A TI rod, custom piston, custom cam, 39mm FCR's, 6 spring clutch, CDI and the whole motor was painted a black epoxy. On another table was a completely polished motor from top to bottom that is going to go after the craycraft bike that ran 4.2 last year in 300 feet. The goal is 3.99 or better in 300 feet. That one i think Bob said was going to be a 730 also, with TI rod, override and custom cam and pistons. There were a few 740 monster in various stages of completion.

Bob said he was about to finsh the testing on the new big bad cam. That cam should make power well over 10k. He had to remove material from the top of the head so the cam could clear each revolution. That is the item that sparked my attention. I have tried a lot of cams the last few years but so far have not found the one i like. I have tried the web 686, 685 and 737, the hot cam stage 2 and the megacycle 280x4 sparks clone . Hopefully this latest wave of modifications will put a end to those big pammi monster that have ben sitting on the top for the last few years. This is not going to be a drop in cam. It will take a little time and effort to make it work if it goes into production for the masses. You will have to use playdo, trim the guides etc. But if you want to go fast....


Anyone else know of a builder with anything new and different in the works? Seems like the raptor is really taking off now. Lots of guys starting building them a few years back and do real well, now there is starting to be a wave of monster motors being built. There should be some really crazy raptors at the drag strip this year.

Mark, Dirtworx is supposed to have a pretty mean Raptor ready for Snake Hunt, so you may need to come and represent the CR crowd!
