Default oil in airbox on raptor

I went to clean my air filter today and i noticed there was oil in my airbox. it is quite a bit of oil so i was kinda worried about it. it also seems to be using up alot of oil to and i cant figure out what is wrong. if someone could tell me what they think is the reason i would really appreciate it. thanks

unless its some sort of oil for your filter that was applied excessively, yes, you have a problem. Is your quad smoking blueish-white smoke?

No i have not over did it on the air filter oil or anything i dont get it. i just cant figure out how it would get in the air box it would have to be coming up through the carbs and that cant be good.

I stand my Blue Raptor up everyday of its towing life. Never had a problem. Now, on to your possible solution. 1st a couple questions. Do you have an aftermarket piston? Do you still use the airbox lid? Possible solution would be rings, cracked top of the piston. Even standing it on end, maybe. If the oil is coming from the crank case breather tube, your getting to much blow by, if it's coming out of it while the quad is running. If your still useing the lid and snorkel, the tube that connects into the snorkel is what I'm refering to. Just a couple possible solutions. Good luck

I have a k&n air filter but still have the airbox lid on. Should i run it without? It is not even a year old so i hope nothing is messed up on it.

Leaving the lid isn't a good or bad thing. It won't matter with what your experiencing. When you stand it up next time make sure the box is free of oil. Then afterwards if there is oil in it, check the breather hose from the crank cause that is where the oil would be coming from, not the carbs.
