I'M STILL UNDECIDED BUT I'M LEANING TOWARD THE KODIAC 4X4 OVER THE GRIZZLY( DUE TO LESS PROBLEMS). CAN ANYONE (THAT HAS TIME ON BOTH ATVS) GIVE ME THE PROS AND CONS OF BOTH UNITS? THANKS FOR HELPING IN MY FINAL CHOICE.

Unless you really need the top end, go with the Kodiac. I went riding this weekend with a Grizz, and it blew my kodiac away. Out of 10 bikes including some 500's, that was the only bike that could do it. But it is pretty heavy and that would make a difference in the mud.

YAMA,
WHAT IMPRESSES YOYU ABOUT THE KODIAC?WHEN YOUR TRAIL RIDDEN WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE GRIZZ AND KODIAC. I KNOW THE GRIZZ SHOULD BE THE FASTER ATV BUT WOULD THAT BE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

If you are going for top speed on the road, get a Grizz. A Kodiak will smoke a Grizz on the trails though. It's so nimble and agile, that the oversized Grizz just can't keep up. Grizzlies are great if you own a farm, but if you want some fun trail riding mixxed in with your chores, get the Kodiak. Grizzlies are just a Jeep with one seat and a set of handlebars.

When riding with bikes that have a speedo, I guess I would do somewhere around 52 MPH. I had the throttle pegged, and had had it pegged for awhile and the grizz came out of nowhere and walked right past me. I figure they will do 60 easy. And I'm 6'2" 250LBS. On the trails, there was very little difference, other then tight corners.

Well the very first thing you notice when you hop on the Kodiak is the lightness of the stering. It runs a little smoother and the front shocks are adjustable. I guess the brakes are better but thats a tough call the both lock the wheels so i dont see the diffrence. I dont really notice the extra 45lbs. I will say there has been 1 set of trees iv encounterd that the grizz had to go around because it was to wide. Relability seems in reality to be the same no problems with ither. I think alot of the problems people bitch about are just somone with a diffrent machine sturing stuff up. From a dead stop you dont really notice the power diffrence. Its when you are crusing down a trail or powering out of a corner you will really notice it. I like them both but i would keep the Grizz if i had to sell 1.
