Default 99 Banshee Up Keep

Hey guys, i just bought a 99 banshee. i dont know much about upkeep and i was wondering if you guys could help me out. here is all of the questions i have.

--First off, if i am right i believe that you mix the gas and the oil right? if i am right, what ratio do you use, and what is good stuff to buy.

--What are all the different fluids and oils that i will have to keep up on?

--What kind of oil should i oil my filter w/ seeing how i will be riding at the sand?

thats about all that i can think of right now, i would appreciate any help that i can get.

The 32:1 ratio is the norm and if you change the ratio you must be ready to rejet, also any good quality oil at 32:1 will work fine, I personally love to run Klotz supertechniplate, and in the gear box I run Honda's HP gear oil.

Amisoil or redline works well.
A good starting point will be 32:1 but you might find that that is too rich and you will have to adjust accordingly. Make sure you look after the rad fluid and tranny oil ( i think its 10w30)

DO you have a K&N? or just a stock air filter? If it is stock then you can get foam filter oil. If it is K&N you will need somthing different. You can usually get oil for knn filters and oil from any powersports shop.

Well thankx for the help guys, but i went to the yamaha shop in town, and here is what they told me. (i asked about stuff that is good but not to expensive). they told me to use yamaha lube 2 stroke oil in my gas. and told me to use the bel ray gear saver for my tranny, and then i was planning on getting a foam filter becuase i ride at the sand, i the K&N jsut wont do the job, and then yes i would get foam oil. and they also told my is it better to you the mixed anitfrezze and water for the cooling mix.

so does that all sound about right, or are they just feeding my crap. and can someone tell me what they mean by "premix" on the 2 stroke oil? thankx guys
