the raptor rides smoother i think and i also like the raptors power more with longer gears and also the yfz sounds very weak although i have never been to the dunes and i would probably rather have a yfz if i did go often but heck a yfz will never beat a raptor in reverse

lol.. i have a rappy and if i had a choice between the two as of now id pick the yfz.. because i rarley use my reverse unless im in the garage pulling it in backwards or somthing.. the yfz is so light and this is good for 2 reasons 1. you can push it instead of reverse. 2. its a beast off of jumps i feel like you can fly so far.. the only set back in the yfz between the two are that the rappy has a real real soft and smooth riding surface and the yfz is like spending a night in jail with big bubba.. lol.. out of the two i pick yfz 450

carmelo, i disagree with you about ur statement of how the raptor doesnt respond that well to mods. teh raptor is so restricted from the factory, u need to put some money into it to unleash its true potential. the yfz is pretty much all out when u buy it, i know a pipe for a yfz gives it a lot, but everything else is already basically topped out. the raptor is all hidden powe, everything u do to it, u feel. pipe adds huge gains, take off lid its been proven when jetted correctly adds 3hp. so i feel the raptor repsonds much better to most mods than the yfz ever will. because its a 660-comapred to a 450

...even though a lot of people like aftermarket "bling bling" mods (like me) you can really get a lot of power out of the raptor. I do jumps and whoops and trails... so i dont really race that much but if i was racing id get a raptor. for fooling around with friends and power doesn't really matter that much go get a yfz!!!!!!!!!!

Go with a suzuki z400. but if your into yamaha go rapter for sand and 450 for speed and trails!! Me in your situation i would choose a z you can upgrade for same amount of money for a rapter but have a quad that is great at speed and handels great on tight trails i know i have a friend with a hooooooked up suzuki z 400 nicer than rapter. Just go get a z man you wont be disapointed

Please do not take any offense to my response.
Get on Akins for about 4 months give or take. When you are down to 220lbs, go and get a YFZ450. You will not be disappointed. I have had mine for a week and love it. Oh and by the way I lost 30 lbs on the South Beach diet and started it before it was mainstream.
