All my buddy's ride honda foremens and they've never had any serious probs with there's. My only concern is that belt drive. I like both honda and Yamaha but I want to try automatic. How often do you have to adjust the belt??? and is there any digital dash on the new ones. I'm torn between the foremen 450 and the Kodiak.I've rode the 450 and the steering was still alittle stiff and hard to turn but I haven't rode a Yamaha yet. How are they threw the mud and can they pull heavy loads. I want it for moose hunting. Your help will be greatly appreciated. I'm so confused........

the foreman lights are excellant up front but you would haft to put a brighter light on back if you want to see when you'r in reverse.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED A HONDA RUBICON?

Not to sway your opinion. YOu need to ride both of these machines. Also, the Kodiak was runner up or ATV of the year depending on which magazine you read. The Kodiak also beat the 450 in a shoot out last winter.

After the test ride the decision should be clear. I almost purchased a Kodiak instead of my Rancher. I also test drove the 450.

Bottom line its your money & you should be happy with which ever you choose.

The Kodiak is very reliable, no probs after 300 hard miles. It feels like a geared bike due to the engine brake. The kodiak is atv of the year and won all shootouts I've seen including the foreman 450. The 450 is a fine bike but I would go with the standard shift on them or the full auto of the Kodiak. They go good in mud although didn't care for the stock tires.
