I saw a street legal Raptor once at a offroad show. It had all your basic street legal components, blinkers, mirrors, license plate, but the weird thing was that it only had 3 wheels!. According to the owner, that was the only way of making it street legal. He had somebody fab him a custom swingarm that held the one wheel back there that he could switch out to the stock one whenever he wanted. It looked pretty weird to say the least, but he could ride it home with no problems with the law if he wanted to.

there are new laws regarding converting off road vehicles to on/off road in CA. Besides needing the various street legal equipment such as tires, mirrors, lights, turn indicators, etc. a new law was passed where the bike must pass state emissions after Feb of 2004.....which means you are screwed because nothing will pass. My buddy got his KTM 450 street legal. Had to fill out DMV forms, get the bike checked by the highway patrol, then go back to the DMV, have them check it, and if he didn't do it by last Feb. it couldn't be done.
