Wolverine must be the one?

Well a stock wolverine would not have moved with those 27's on it. There is just a special little mod that the yamaha shop down here does that takes care of that for everyone that wants to turn there's into a full blown mud machine. The only problem is you sacrifce speed for torque and low end pulling power.

I'm extremely happy with mine. Only mods so far are ITP C-Series wheels and 25" Big Horn radials. The tires made a big difference in the mud and snow. I don't mind the full time 4 wheel drive either.... the steering is light and the thing is a blast in the woods. I'm surprised more guys don't have this bike... so what if it's technology is a little long in the tooth? I say if something is solid and it works keep it!

like rock 777 said , go on ebay and get the 424 . i also got mine for $220.00 it made a world of difference . having that installed was like getting a new four wheeler . fun fun fun . i bought my wolverine in feb 2003 and have not had a single problem with it . four wheel drive is a manditory option around here where i live but i wanted something sporty and NOT A POLARIS . so i got the wolverine . like yamaha says it is the best of both worlds . to add on when it is paid for i am getting raptor . every one should own one sometime in their life time just to say they have had the ultimate riding machine . just my 2 cents

The install isn't that difficult. The Warn 424 come with complete detailed instructions that cover all the bases. It took me about 2 hours, it is more time consuming than it is difficult. Good Luck

I don't mean to dis on the wolverine but my friend has one of them and it seem kind of gutless. I mean 350cc just isn't enough to turn 4 tires. But maybe thats just me?
Again I don't want to bash it but will it have enough power for you?

I have never ridden a Wolverine, and it might not have much power. My Eiger only has 376cc, even though it says 400. If the wolvy really has 350cc's, it would probably still have pretty good power. My 376cc Eiger has as much power as my friends Prairie 400, or at least really close to it, and it is like a 401 or something. Someone said something about the size of the Eiger being too large. After riding my Eiger, I got on my step-dads 94 Bayou 300, and it is like sitting of a hot wheels with handle bars. I like having a little bit larger atv. And about the slow part. Will the wolverine really outrun an Eiger? The Eiger is actually really fast for a utility quad in the 400cc range. I think the only thing that will outrun it is a Bombardier.

I suppose if you just stepped off a TwinPeaks or Prarie it would seem slow, but even then, the factory top speed of the Prarie is only 10mph more than the Eiger. I'm pretty darn happy with mine.
After bigger exhaust and a CVK36, I really think it's gonna open up. Now if I could just find that carb for less than $300...

The Wolvy is not as fast as the sport quads, but it obviously isn't meant to be. It is the lightest 4x4 out there, and therefore it gives it the sporty "light" feel. I do agree it would be nice if it came with a 450 or 500, but then it would be heavier and if it was still 4x4 it wouldn't be as sporty as it is now. The Warn 424 unleashes some extra horses, or at least it gets up and goes quicker, and compared to other sport/utilities I feel the Wolverine is the best because it handles great, is lighter, and is sportier that other sport/utilities yet still is a 4x4. Just boils down to what each person likes really. It would be cool though if Yamaha could make this bike with a 500cc engine and not add any weight.
