Default Raptor Spark Arrestor

If I remove my spark arrestor from my stock '03 Raptor pipe, will it cause any harm? Do I need to do anything else? Will I get any gains in power or sound? Thanks in advance. Jay

Thanks for the quick reply, I am going to remove it but I wanted to make sure it would not lean it out or anything. I too am looking for mods for my "new to me '03".

Does it not come out easily? In the manual it shows how to take it out and it looks pretty easy.

maybe it was just my bike but when i tried i first took off the metal end cap then i took off that one screw for the spark arrestor then i literally beat at it with pliers, hammer, and flathead screw and i got it to move maybe a cm or two so after that i gave up but maybe i was doing it the wrong way or something but i know for sure it just wont slide out as easy as i first thought it would be.
