Default New Tie Rods, QUESTION ON INSTALLATION

Ugintel,
On taking off the old tie rods. I took out the cotter pin and released the nut but the darn tie rod won't come out. What do I do to get it out?

Default New Tie Rods, QUESTION ON INSTALLATION

I use a piece of string tied to 2 poles.....kinda like builders use when laying bricks.
This method is best for camber/caster adjustments
and a tape measure of course.

artoux, you do not have to take those off to install just NEW RODS. leave those nuts on, I just removed the tire to make it more accessable. Turn the handle bars and stick the new rod in, then turn them back and thread bolth ends on at the same time.

Default New Tie Rods, QUESTION ON INSTALLATION

Ugintel and bartlett,
thanks for the tip. My tie rod is aftermarket so it didn't break after all. I just screwed it out.
But the ball joint did on the threaded part. So I have to buy a new ball joint. I left the nut on loosened it up a little and hit it with a hammer not to damage the threads, with a 2x4 also.
Can't get it off maybe I need the ball joint puller you were talking about. where do I get one. I'll call Yamamah tommorrow and see what's up.
Thanks Chuck-Raptorman
