jetting

Default jetting

i'm sorry i'm a total begginer in the world of mechanics including my atv, i just started actually getting sort of hands on. what exactly is jetting, and why does everyone talk about getting their bike jetted?

its changing the jet size in the carbator and it make them faster. Not that much but a noticable difference. eceleration mostly not top speed.

jets are parts of the carberator that allow gas to pass through. By rejetting you are adjusting the amount of gas mixed in with the air. Jetting is usually going to make a big difference when done alone or especially in addition to other mods.

When adding other mods to your bike, such as air filters and performance pipes you need to adjust the jetting. When adding these mods your bike will be able to flow more air and you will need to adjust the jet size so that you can have more gas to keep the ratio even.
