Default raptor jetting

I have a 2004 raptor and I am considering jetting, I usually ride in rocky point(sea level) and I also ride around the local places in the desert, and I am wondering how much adjustment I am going to have to go through if i were to rejet my carb. I am also wondering how difficult it would be to do this myself and any suggestions as to size of jets.

Well when u jet u have to consider ur mods in with it. What jet sizes are u running now? The best way to get the right jets are to set up two cones about 100ft to 200ft apart and get a buddy or somebody with a stop watch and get a head start and get into about 3rd gear when u pass the first cone and hit the throttle and start the watch when u go by the first cone then stop the watch when u pass by the second one. Be sure to be consitent when doing this. Do it the second time like u did the first time. Then what ever jet u are running with the fastest time, thats the right one. This is for the main jets. Hope this helps. It takes alittle time to do but it will get u the closet since i assum u dont have a dyno or anything like that. Lance

I have it running the stock jetting, the only mods I have are a gyt-r slip on and a k&n filter.
