I am just curious if you guys think it's possible to carbon fiber a frame. I have been searching on the internet and really couldnt find anything. I just tore my banshee down to pain the frame and I thought about doing something totally different.

Thanks Guys,
Heather

Do you mean wrap the existing frame with carbon fibre sheets?

Or totally fab a new carbon fiber frame?

I would think that would be a difficult task either way....I know I would not want to get into it. Get yourself a good powder coat job...your wallet will thank you.

Why don't you powdercoat your frame. There are so many designs and colors. I've done both of my raptors, one is yellow, and the other is flouresent orange.

I had plan to powder coat the frame yellow but I thought about doing something different.

Yeah I meant wrapping the existing frame in sheets.
Im curious how much it would cost and where I can get it done at.

Try a silvervein yellow powdercoat. It will probably be a lot cheaper than carbonfiber. I'm am not a fan of the looks of the carbon fiber.

What is silvervein yellow? As far as the yellow color of it?
I have a mustang that is chrome yellow. If I went with the powercoat I was going to go with chrome yellow. It's the same yellow as the shocks on the banshee.

You can get a role of carbon fiber tape for around 50 buck i think. it might be around 60 now. Its not a very large roll so it might take 2 for the entire frame.

I have no idea where to get carbon tape...But I was looking at my banshee frame last night after a ride and was wondering how you would even begin to wrap it and have it come out looking good.

The tubular parts would be ok...but what to do at the intersections of tubes? The gussetts are in the way..mounting holes...etc.

Seems like a long and tedious process...but I would be interested in seeing how it comes out for you.

Leave it to a woman to want to make things complicated-lol

It might be impossible to do. Not sure.
Let me know if you guys find out anything.

Thanks,
Heather
