ok so yesterday me and 2 friends went riding and got bored and decided to go exploring. we found a huge motocross track that i knew was there but didnt realizehow big it was cause its in the woods. we got bored there and went farthere up old railroad tracks along rt. 17 in sullivan co. we come to the intersection where there is a light cross the hiwy and go into a field and onto a trail. we take trail after trail and turn around several times. then we got lost. we took one trail and it came out by the highway so we crossed b/c we wanted to find the rr tracks and get home. we came to a little field like 15 feet off the road and a fence is surrounding us on 2 sides and a cliff on another i turn around and there is a trooper comming up 17 so we got frantic and started freaking out. then he pulls up and flips his lights on and we had n0 chance. so he got out names and stuff and took us to the school where my parents were for a play. he told us 4 ppl called them for complaints on us that day and he was lookin for us. we got no fines or tickets but im not allowed to ride for 2 weeks [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] but now i have time to clean it and put on my pipe thats comming in a few days.

 

sounds like you got off easy could have been alot worse.. i hope you showed the cop some respect

 

those four people that called on u need to get a life those are the kind of people that i hate our trails got shut down cuz of people like them they have nothing better to do than to look for kids tryin to have a good time and ruin it cuz they forget when they were kids. but yeah you guys are lucky that u got off easy most of the time police get calls like that they are more mad at the people that called them than the kids Because the cops realize they are just kids and they are gonna make mistakes and they dont wanna ruin it for the kids but its there job and they have better things to do than to harrasse kids having fun while they could be out there catching a bank robber or some other criminal

 

yea when he told my dad what was goin on he said we were very polite and respectful thats what kept us out of the most trouble. but when we got to the school when he let us out he goes '' man you guys are a pain in my ***''. we didnt know if he was being sarcastic or he meant he was mad we made him go out of his way lol o well

the cops around here are dicks, they will give you a ticket...... one of my friends up the road got a ticket about 3 months ago.... so everytime i see a trooper i haul ***

 

man can't even have good clean fun any more with out getting in trouble.

 

I got stopped 3 times on my blaster and not one time did i get a ticket but I ran the 4th, that was last summer. I ride ion the streets alot but im extremely careful, I always pull into a driveway when I see any car and get back on the road when it passes, it has worked out pretty good as I haven't gotten stopped since last summer even though I have had the cops called on me several times, they still cant find me! ha ha ha ha ha!

 

I've given the cops a run around a few times. The police around hear can't touch any of us because we just cruze into trails where they can't get their cars. Most of the time we just sit on top of the highest hills and laugh at them. . .

You are exactly right. Trails are getting shut down because of people like "soon2bBlaster" and his little friends riding around on the streets, on other people's property, and on trails they shouldn't be on. They are p!ssing off the neighbors, creating a negative image of ATV riders and if they keep it up soon their trails will be shut down.

The reason they got off is because they are just kids. I guarantee you that if they were over 18 they would have gotten a ticket.

I love to ride. I ride and race ATVs as much as I possibly can. I am a member of the ATVA, and I support all responsible riders, but if some punk came tearing across my field or through my woods without my permission, I sure as hell would call the cops on him.

The 4 people who called the cops were doing the right thing. They did what any responsible citizen would do. The ones at fault are "soon2bBlaster" and his friends, and also their parents for letting them run wild and not teaching them to be responsible ATV riders.

I know alot of the kids on here will attack my views, but I hope some of the other, more mature riders who have seen the effects of trail closures will back me up. Thanks.
