i am gonna be buying a new quad soon and want to know what everyone thinks would be the best. i live in the u.p. of michigan and almost all the riding i do is all trail riding and heavy woods riding. i have a warrior right now and its not cutting it anymore. i have been riding now for about 12-13 years and really...REALLY need a change. i like hauling a$$ places but i also like trail riding and casual riding sometimes too. i really dont do alot of bogging or mudding, and occasionally do some pit riding or sand riding. out of these three, what would be the best choice for me? please put it all out there........thanks

from reading what kind of riding you do and knowing a little about each of the quads you listed I think you would be best suited on the yfz450. Its a great new quad with lots of power and torque for that kind of riding. If all day comfort and ease of riding is your thing then maybe the raptor would be better but I would go with the yfz450 cause there is a big difference in power and the yfz is (from riding one and reading all about them) a great quad and its fast, and its a 4 stroke and thats what your riding now so you will be happier with that I think. Nothing against the 400ex Its just outdated and underpowered. (air cooled, small displacement, and being replaced by the 450r) The 450 r is another great quad to think about I got to take my first ride on one the other day and they are nice too if you like honda. which I think honda is a great company and they make very nice reliable quads.
Hope this helps

thank you for the info, yeah i wanna stick with the 4 stroke. the yfz is what i was thinking as well but one more question here, what about the weight and height of riders. i am 6 foot, 250lbs. would this be a downfall at all when riding the yfz???

I agree, Im also 6ft 5 245lbs and I was looking at yfz's when I bought my banshee and I sat on and rode a yfz a raptor and a banshee at the dealer that I usually go through and the yfz was the least comfortable. The raptor wasn't bad but I had the most room on a banshee. I have long legs I wear pants size 36 38 and the banshee had the most leg room of the bunch I thought. However the raptor was so close it wasn't even a really noticable difference but the yfz was really small feeling. try one out your local dealer should let you they usually do.
