Bent Rear Axl - 01' Kodiak 400
G'day All. I recently purchased a second hand 2001 Kodiak 400 from a friend. The past two weeks i went away with some friends for an ATV trip in the woods. I noticed that my back wheel is wobbly a bit. After some investigation it is the actual axl bar/shaft that is a bit 'off'. it's only off a tiny bit, and can only really notice it when i drive on flat surface. My question(s) are,
1.) Can i just leave this? will it cause more damage? 2.) What kind of cost would i be looking at to repair? 3.) can the existing bar be fixed or does it need to be replaced? Thanks in advance -srm |

th only damage this will cause is that itll prematurely wear ure rears tire(s).rear axle replacement will cost in upwards of 200 smackers,so if it aint too bad i dunno if its necessary to replace it,it may also affect handling, but only th slightest bit if as u sed,its only a little bend.my younger brother ran his arctic cat into a tree earlier this week, but it only bent th a arm so th tire tilts in a bit on the front left side, its still dirveable, but the tire wear is gonna be an issue.it just depends on if u wanna spend ure money replacing tires,or replacing th axle.hope this helps.

Tire wear is the only thing I can think of it affecting, well and maybe the handling a little. If you don't ride on hard flat surfaces much, I'd just leave it be. Not sure how much a new one would set you back.

I also bent axle of my kodiak a year ago and when i went into the dealer about it they said that it wasnt a problem and that they could straighten it for me they also said that most dealers or shops could have also done it so i would ask around if i were you. And i have had no other problems after that and it seems really strong still, and mine was bent good, and it only cost me 25 bucks.
