VP Fuel and a strange plug color
What plug are you running? Is the color change at the bend of the ground strap? Are you sure you didn't get a drop of antifreeze on the tip as you pulled the plug? I run C12 and it's an ashy white color when it's jetted right. My Dad looked at my plug last weekend and about had a heart attack, he was sure I was trying to melt it down:-)

The color change is right at the bend in the strap. I'm also running a DPR9ea-9 plug, it's one of the new NGK's that are silver colored instead of the older gold plating. According to the VP site that was posted earlier I'm still a little rich. I know I didn't get any antifreeze on it. On a 12:1 JE piston I'm running 177/180 @ 4000 ft elevation I really don't want to go leaner but it does have more HP now than it did with a 180/185 mains.

With the correct jetting the plugs will look some where between a new plug and a very light gray color
A yellow tint present that means you are too lean, jet up 1 jet size on the primaries and 1 to 2 sizes on the secondary.
If there is a green tint you are very lean and must jet up 1 to 2 sizes on the primaries and 2 to 4 sizes on the secondary side
A spotty or solid dark gray color indicates you are to rich and must jet down for the right mixture. After re-jetting make another hard test run and check your plugs again until you reach the correct color

Well I put up 2 pics, they are fuzzy but you can see the green on the strap. I also remember that this has some Idle time on it. So My guess is the green is from some where in the RPM range and the Dark gray/Black is from Idle. I wish I had a Air/Fuel gauge.

That looks way to rich to me. Put that plug back in, warm the engine up. Put in a brand new plug, make a full throttle run and kill the engine. Then see what color it is. I bet it will be different.
When jetting my raptor with VP U4 I made two 1/4 mile wide open runs then shut it down. The plug looked brand new. DPR9EA-9. Absolutely no color or sign of heat at all. I called VP and they told me I was almost right on, go just one more size richer.
Run it with a new plug then call the VP rep and tell 'em what you have.
