A front lowering kit really helps in these situations. First gear doesn't wheelie nearly as bad when your on the gas tank and launching for a race.

 

Have you tried gearing it down a little? Even if you get a bad start you should pass right by that Z400 no problem.

 

Its called feathering the clutch lol... You will smoke him when you get it down. Heres what i do..... Rev it, usually not all the way just depends on terrain, and start lettin the clutch in and out just a bit (making the 4 wheeler rock back and fourth) so you know if u need to increase the throttle if it isnt pulling hard when rocking.... When you can tell it really wants to jump forward dump the clutch and go full thottle.... works for me and my dads 4 wheeler! Hope it works for you, now go smoke that dude lol
