Default K&N Filter

I want to purchase a K&N Filter because iheard they are the best. I have a 2001 blaster and i am pretty sure i found the correct filter for example This Filter Now i have heard things about outerwear or something like that. I need to know which outerwear is best if there is a best one and what model, brand, etc. i need to buy. I am a new rider and don't know much about this stuff.. Thank's in advance.

Default K&N Filter

i love my k&n, in fact i have 2, a clamp on filter directly from the carb, and one for the airbox, i would suggest the in box filter with the box outerwears, i prefer the outerwears that screw in like the lid but is the outerwear, if ur riding very dusty conditions go with the UNI

To be honest, I've gotten more HP from the pro design foam than the k&n, and I found the foam doesn't nearly lose as much performance in the dust from clogging. I know some would disagree, but I think the k&n filters are overrated. I think they also still had the same throttle response. Anyway, you can't go wrong with any clamp on aftermarket hi flo filter, they are all much better than stock. I think Honda had it right with the clamp on stock filter in it's 400EX though, at least someone wasn't too cheap to do it! lol

K&N filters are paper!!! That is so old technology...some bikes in the 70's came with paper filters....what do they come with now? Foam, for a reason too, they filter better & have a bigger filter area than a stupid K&N. If you only ride on the street ( cars, trucks etc use paper ) go ahead & get one. I think Twin Air are better than UNI's. Just MHO.
