Default ran out of gas

i just got back from a ride but i had to put it on reserve cause it was stalling. when i got home i put it back on "on" and went inside. i think i hear someone on the old railroad tracks behind my house so i run out jump on my blaster and take off. about 1/10 of a mile down i start to slow down and it starts to rev so i grab the clutch and coast but its getting higher and higher and im freaking out. i hit the kill switch and nothing, so as a last resort i shut off the key and dumped the clutch and it shut off. at this point i was pretty nervous b/c i thought i fryed something when the motor was at full throttle with the clutch in for about 5 seconds. so im kicking and kicking and i remember to turn my gas to reserve and it started. do u guys think this could have done any damage to my engine like rings or piston? thanks for any answers

if u did any damage, u would know about it by now, something would be running funny. quick reaction time, good that u did that, they blow up pretty quick, one time one of my friends had his blaster and it got stuck pinned in nuetral some how, and the kill switch nor key did anything, so he ripped off the spark plug cap.

Mine did that last week (the throttle sticking) cept it did it for much longer. I hit the kill and turned the key off, and it kept going for several seconds. I couldnt dump the clutch due to the fact that i was pointing towards my wife that was sitting in the lawn chair. I was about to pull the intake tube off the carb when it finally died. Scared the **** outa me. I guess it is fine, cause it is running great.

a few things to do to shut it off incase this happens to anyone else--------remove the spark plug cap, slam the bakc brakes and dump the clutch, choke it full-on, if its got the snorkel to the indtake put ur hand on it

Yea, all of those things pop into your mind after the fact, but when its happening, you just sit there like 'a fart caught in a whirlwind'. I should have been thinking a little more clearly but........

I think we both lucked out!!
