"Hitch" for Raptor ???!!!!
#1
Will be getting a new Raptor and Yamaha jet boat in the next couple days. It will be very tough to fit the boat in the garage so I was thinking of using the truck to get it 1/2 in the garage and then using the raptor to push it back. Anyone know of a front "hitch" for the raptor so I can push the boat in ??? Probably not but I might be able to fabricate something. I can probably even push it back with the front trailer wheel down to keep most the load off the front. Can the Rator handle this or is this a BAD idea. Hopefully I can just push it in myself instead of mess'n with rig'n something for the quad or I might just get a boat dolly.
Thanks in advance ...

I garauntee if you do make it work, the high gearing on the raptor will burn your clutch out before you know it trying to back it into the garage. I can barely use my reverse as is even with a 12 tooth countershaft sprocket. If you have to slip it even harder with a boat behind it, you might have to get used to changing clutches on a monthly basis! LOL... If you could gear it down enough, yeah, it has more than enough power, but the gearing is too high to even attempt it, cause when you let the clutch out, it's doing bout 5-10 MPH in reverse easy! It'd be a waste to down gear it enough to use it for that. Get used to muscling it around I guess?

I actually didnt see if I could lift the tongue weight ... I could push it around a bit with the wheel down but it will just all depend how far I can get it in the garage as my driveway is sloped a little so have to get the bulk in the garage before I even have a change of being able to push it in myself.
I definetly would not be using reverse ... would need to be a front hitch so I could push from the front. So I guess the question is is first gear low enough, does it have the torque, and would have to consider the tongue weight.
Thanks for the input ... am going to try everything possible not to do this but it is a last resort option ...

Somebody out there must have done this. It doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me. I was told I could not tow anything even a small trailer with my 91 Stealth twin turbo either. I have had a hitch on it for several years and made several trips from Seattle to Tahoe besides all the local trips pulling my jet skis.

It wouldn't be as bad in forward with a 12tooth countershaft sprocket, but something like a 400EX or DS650 have way better bottom ends for stuff like that. You don't wanna be moving that boat quick, and that's all the sport quads are really geared for. I use my dad's Ranger 6x6 and even then I use low range cause high range with the CVT belt is just too sudden. I'd say you could do it no problem on flat, but getting intricate in a garage is another thing, even in forward. Just really hard on the clutch either way. Try it by hand, I think you'll be surprised how easy it should be as long as your boats not that heavy. As long as you don't have to push it uphill, you shouldn't have a problem lining it up by hand.
