Iv had 2 banshees and I love em. there is simply no power like the type of power that a banshee puts out. It will pull your arms out of the sockets all the way to the top of 6th gear. Ive ridden several other sport quads from modified raptors and 400ex's to yfz 450's and quad racers and the only thing that has that arm wrenching power is the banshee.
I live in upstate NY too and I have a couple friends with banshees and we get along fine with all the other sport quads. In fact sometimes better since I just put mine in 2nd gear and dump the clutch when Ive got mud to cross. I just skim it with the tires turning faster than hell.
They are fast. out of the box they are fast as hell they will keep up to anything, You start putting accessories on em and they are unstopable. You can read the mods I have in my sig and I am smoking fast with just those mods Im beating all sorts of modded 4 strokes. Ive done some drag racing since Ive had this last banshee and the only race I lost so far was to a banshee that was modded more than mine.
I am 6ft 5 in and 245lbs and Im comfy so I think youll be fine
The maintenance is a little higher and reliability is a little lower with a 2 stroke, thats a fact you cant get passed but if there is such a thing as a reliable 2 stroke its the banshee. Ive only toasted one motor in my days and I ride every day, even after a hard seizure It only cost me $485 to have the motor completely redone by a professional so Its really inexpensive comparably. Ive seen raptors that have blown up ( and most recenlty yfz450's) and they are considerably more expensive to rebuild. upwards of $1000 for the most recent yfz that my buddy had blow up.
I hope this helps you decide. I was thinking of a raptor when I got my last quad but I rode a couple and they just didnt excite me like the banshee does, it just screams to top end.
There are lots of things that a raptor or yfz 450 does better. they have better suspension, better ergos (supposidly), they are much easier to ride. A banshee has a softer seat, and I think its most comfortable for taller riders, in my opinion. If you get good at piloting a banshee than you wont be beat by much.

I traded my modded out LE Raptor even after going to a 686 complete kit and have never been happier. If you want adreline rushing surge of having to hold on for dear life a modded out Banshee we deliver. Contrary to what some of the Raptor owners on this site will tell you a good ported piped Banshee will pull away from almost all modded out 4 strokes whan racing on tacky terrraine where the Banshee's horsepower won't have you spinning too badly. Down here we race on asphualt so the drag racing kings are all 2 strokes. I see you want to ride alittle bit of everyhting IMO this is what makes the Banshee so much fun as it make a boring ride into a wheel spinning good time no matter what your doing. I have even gone into mud with mines and you can just jump off of it in 1st gear and walk behind it and push as it wont stall once it's moving, I can baby crawl all day long with just the engines idle keeping me going and it moves at a snails pace without stalling, I can go on and on and on about how much I love my Banshee.
Statisfied 110% even after losing $3,000 to trade if I had to I would do it again!!!!
