Default air box mods

I thought i saw someone say that they did some air box mods to increase air flow to their 4x4 4 wheeler. Is there a way to do this without jeopardising the risk of collecting more trash and more importantly water in the air box too much?

You can make holes in the air box to increase air flow. UNI makes filter plugs to keep water from getting inside them.
There is mixed feelings about it. If you ride in alot of water then I wouldn't do it, but dry conditions will be fine as long as you re-jet.

Put the holes in a non disrecte location where water is less likely to get in - There are plugs made of K&N Outerware that will block water, look for those. Outerwares are AMAZING!
