Default Warrior ignition questions

I have a 1997 warrior. Idles but if you rev it it breaks up.Spits sputters and will back fire. Now the module question..Can the module idle ,but then break up when you start to rev the motor??? Or does this seem more like a stator issue maybe..I went thru the carb just to make sure that wasn`t the problem. When the timing light is on it at odle its right on the timing marks. When you rev the motor it starts to lose the flash of the light ,so it must be an ignition problem. Light is losing its signal to flash..Thanks for any imput...Please help ,it mys sons and we need to ride....

It sounds more like you are running a rich carb you might want to check the spark pulg it should be tan if its way black your rich if is very white hardly tan then you are running lean. I doubt its a startor if it was the stator it would not even start it would just try if the neutral light seems to be very weak then you might also want to charge the battery. I hope this helps.

My bike starts fine ,as long as you don`t rev it up. As soon as it starts to get a little above idle it breaks up..Carb and plug look good. My son was riding around ,and suddenly the bike shut off.He started it back up,and then it wouldn`t rev without breaking up. I`m 99% sure its not the carb..I was guessing between the stator or module. But i don`t know if either one will just work partially..I mean idle but not rev...Thinking the module is either good or bad , not something that would only partially work.. The stator was my next guess....I guess i`ll start a hunt for a new stator..Thanks for the input...

Hi I noticed that you need a stator. I have one if you are interested. I will talk to my husband to see how much. It is brand new.
