Default broken degree key?

Today i was riding and i went to shift from first to second but hit neutral. i have the degree key and i think it broke because when i hit neutral it put the extra stress on it. when i took off the cover the flywheel nut was at the end of the threads i cant take off the flywheel until tomorrow because my freind has a flywheel puller and i dont. i tightened up the nut and kicked it and it almost started but it backfired and the second time it almost had an idol but it sounded like gears grinding then stalled. Trenga told me that the degree keys break alot but i dont believe a word from him. i need help as soon as possible

Default broken degree key? help!!!

its in the crankshaft. it spins the flywheel. the stock name is the woodrov key but the one i have that vitos makes is offset 4 degrees so give the ignition better timing which results in more power
