Default Wolverine..noisy valves....is this normal??

I just got my wolverine back from the dealership after getting its first service. The only reason I really took it to the dealership for this is my valves seemed like they were tapping, everything else I've done myself already. Anyway, I got it home and I can stil hear them tapping. So I called the service department and asked them if they checked the valves, they said they did. I told them that I can still hear them tapping. They said that with the warriors and wovlerines (warrior engine) this slight tapping is normal. It's not real loud, but I can definitely hear it. Does anyone else have this on their quad or know if this is normal or the service department is just yanking me around. The sound isn't annoying or anything, I just want to make sure nothing is wrong. Thanks for any input.

Valves in mine have always been noisy when hot.
They run pretty quiet before the motor warms up.

My 2004 Wolvy sounds the same. I checked my valves after 10 hours, found them slightly loose and adjusted them, and the noise ended up just as bad! I'm not so sure that the noise is coming from just the valves. My dealer warned me that the motor would be noisey when it got hot. When cold it's as quiet as can be! I guess we have a "unique" motor that stands out it a crowd (best way to look at it I guess)!
If anyone else knows anything else about this clatter please chime in

Mine does the same thing. It started doing it during break in and only does it once the engine has warmed up. It runs fine and the noise hasn't gotten any worse.

If it's not louder than the exhaust don't worry about it.

In all seriousness a little tapping is not big deal. Neither is that "clack" you hear on start-up or shut-off, people tend to worry about that too.

As other people have said, it's just when the wheeler gets warmed up. It's not terribly lould, but I can hear it. No, it's not louder than the engine. Thanks to everyone that already replied, it sounds as if this sound is normal in the warriors and wolverines and I feel better now.

Hey BansheeBoy,

I actually live south of Syracuse in Marathon. I just picked Syracuse cuz it's the only city that's big enough for anyone to have heard of it. I'm actually new up here, just moved up from NJ so I don't know the entire layout yet. I do go to Syracuse for shopping and stuff when I need to see some civilization. I'm actually real close to Cortland, that kind of a "city".....well the people call it a city.

Where you at?
