If you really want a new quad, but i dont know much about the 350, all i know is that it is like 5k new, for the price...you could find a good used 03, maybe an 04 raptor 660...

get a used z/kfx/dvx 400 they are pretty good and cheaper used than a new raptor 350 plus they would leave the 350 in the dust

The Raptor 350 is nice...but if you want to keep up go for a used Z or a Raptor 660.

In response to the guys recommending the 660, have you been riding quads for very long? Have you ever owned a sport quad or dirt bike?

I'm thinking that if this is your first sport quad, or first quad in general, and you're talking of keeping up with your buddies on their 400's then a 660 may not be a good starting point for you. It has more power than an inexperienced rider should be exposed to, espeically a rider who's intent is to keep up with other experienced riders.

I think the 350 would be a good starting point for you, though it is expensive for a starter ... have you thought of a used 300ex or Warrior? The 400's probably wouldn't be tooooo bad, but are still potent machines.

Use your head and try not to ride beyond your abilities, and always wear a helmet.

I'm 34 and 170lbs and the Warrior still gives me a rush some times ....

I have ridden for quite some time, i have had a 400ex for the longest time.... currently own a nice z400 and an insane raptor...

I dont think a stock raptor is that overpowering, that is unless you are trying to compare it to the warrior or something...

Age has nothing to do with what quad you should get. I would not reccomend a raptor to anyone, who has never riden before, although an older person would probably know to take it easy! I got my raptor 2 years ago, and am now 14.... do the math, I was 12 on a raptor, and am still around to tell about it.

You could probably keep up on trails, if you are as good of a rider, as your friends, depending on what kind of trail it is. If it is a technical, slow trail, you will do fine, although a wide open, smooth trail, you will be eating dust, if you are even close enough to eat it!
