2 strokes are more powerful, and lighter than 4 strokes!!

two strokes suck, there are only 2 ways to get power from a 2 stroke, port and polish, or more compression. that's it you are very limited( of course there are bolt ons and bore it out but that goes for anything) but on a 4 stroke you got more possibilites with port work, you can play with the valves, you can change cams, and change compression. No matter what anybody says 4 strokes have more potential for power, say all you want about it sucks to adjust valves, but it aint that hard dont have to do it very often and it sure beats mixing gas every time you ride, just pump and go. 4 strokes arent cheaper, they arent eaiser to work on, they dont rev out as fast, they dont have a powerband, they arent as light, but they are what the real men ride.

No matter what anybody says 4 strokes have more potential for power,
So according to you a 350cc Warrior engine has more power potential than a 350cc Banshee engine since it is a 4 stroke???
You know that there are 350cc Banshee engines putting out more than 90hp on alky,no nitrous, no turbo or anything just on engine.I guess you also know there are 130/150hp 350cc turbo Banshees outhere right?
Now show me a 350cc 4 stroke engine that can match these numbers or even better show me a Raptor engine that can,you wont because there are none. Oh and dont forget we are only talking about small 350cc 2 stroke engines here, more power potential...Lmao sure!!!!

Neither is BETTER they are just DIFFERENT
It all depends on what you like. The sad part is that the 2-stroke will be dead soon enough, and eventually this argument will be more of a novelty.
These days the 250cc 2-stroke are becoming the minority at a 2-wheel Motocross National event, that's not a good sign. The CR450s and YZ450s are making up 25 riders out of a 40 gate start and that spells doom for the 2-stroke. And even though most people though 4-wheel 2-stroke would die off, not too many believe it would happen to the 2-wheel MX bikes so fast. Even Ricky Carmichael switched to a 450 after riding 2-stokes his whole career. I guess RCs inability to get Kevin Windham and the CR450 off his *** all last season was enough.
The 2-stroke will become a fossil in 5 years. Sad but true.

Obvoiusly you have no idea what a powerband is.
Just for the record a powerband is the rpm range where an engine produces its maxium usable power.
In a 2 stroke engine it is a lot more noticeible because the power increases drastically in a matter of a few hundred rpm. Example it has 15 hp at 4000 rpm and 25 hp at 4500 and 40 at 5000 meaning the hp has almost tripled in a matter of 1000 rpm giving it a sudden rush of power increase known as a "hit". 4 strokes deliver smoother power spread over a wider rpm range not giving them that sudden rush. Every engine has a powerband, including your car, lawnmower ect. If you think a powerband is some physical part in the engine as many do, it dosent exist. Although some 2 strokes have a valve in the exhaust port that varies exhaust timing with rpm but that is known as a powervalve.

A 250cc fourstroke engine could never weigh less than a 250cc 2 stroke engine.
4 Strokes have LESS potential per cc than a 2 stroke and it takes a helluva lot more money to get the 4 stroke there because you have so many components to upgrade.
The super/moto x riders have switched to 4 stroke bikes for many reasons. First is that the factory sponsors know that the 2 stroke bikes are going to be killed off and they want a head start in modifying and racing the 4 strokes so they dont get left behind. The factories also dont want a condition like the atv world was three years ago where the vast majority of the machines racing were one offs that were no longer in production. Its hard to sell bikes that win on race day if they are no longer produced.
Liberal enviro whackjobs complain about the pollution released by the 2 stroke. Bomb has been upgrading and improving their sleds to meet 2006 epa standards but they seem to be the only one. If the ban on new machines goes on you can expect the death of the 2 stroke as we know it. I'm not just talking about sleds, bikes, and atvs though. Your chainsaw, weed whacker, trimmer, etc will all be four strokes that weigh a lot more and dont achieve nearly the rpm range. Stihl already has a wet sump type 4 stroke that has valves but acts like a 2 stroke. Its a sad sad thing.
