Default 2004 Raptor keeps stalling

Hey all...
I have taken my raptor out only a couple times. I have only filled the tank up once. I havent started it for almost a month and when I went to warm it up yesterday morning, it stalled after about a minute. Thats with the choke on. I tried starting it again and it immediately stalls. I try to keep it running with the throttle, but as soon as you try to open the throttle, it stalls. I did the same exact thing this morning...stalled after a minute again. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks.

Unless it is really cold you only need the choke on to get it to start, as soon as it fires begin to work the choke open untill you notice the rpm drop a little. Leave it there a minute or so then open it all the way. To be honest I only ever close mine 1/2 to 3/4 at most in winter to get it started then open it up in the first couple of minutes and let it warm up fully without the choke. Don't know if this is aperfect way to do it but mine kept stalling if i left the choke all the way on for even 30 secs. If this don't work try a spark plug change, air filter cleaning and check your idle speed setting (should be around1500rpm).

you only open the choke up when warming up, you bike probably warmed up all the way and that means you gotta turn the choke off or the mixture will be wrong causing the stalling. just try starting with the choke.

I went out and bought a new stock filter. Once installed, I started it again and it immediately stalled. I will try spark plugs next. After it stalls, I cant get it to even fire. Sorry bout all the newbie questions....

Maybe I will end up taking it to get serviced. I would hate to screw it up more than it already is...not knowing what I am doing.

To be honest with you, I dont even know how to use the parking brake. When I lock it into position, it doesnt put any type of brake on. Is it suppose to? It holds the clutch in right? ...how can that put a brake on? Again...sorry about my newbie-ism! I never had trouble with my R1.

It could be your parking brake but i also think it could be your rev limiter thats what i had problems with it did the same thing it would do with the park brake on ..
