Default RAPTOR POURING OUT OIL AFTER OIL CHANGE!!!please please help

i changed the oil in my raptor today for the first time. i took off the body skid plate, and drained the bolt by the shifter, then i drained the rezzy bolt, then i put both bolts back in tight, and took off the oil filter with a pipe wrench, and took the new oil filter, put oil on the O-ring, and tightened it tight again with the wrench. i then put about 1 quart of oil in teh rezzy, and put in the dip stick and started it up for about 5 sec, then took out the dipstick, and poured what i thought was another quart in, but it started to over flow from the rezzy, so i stopped there, and put in the dip stick, and when for a ride, about 1/4 mile away i stopped and noticed oil leaking from what look like the filter, i called a friend with a truck, and he drove me to my house, and i saw oil from my driveway, the entire way until where i stopped.
BTW it ran fine, and i turned it off, it didnt stall or anything. what is wrong??? i put 10w-40 in

My guess would be you punctured a hole in the filter with the pipe wrench. You do not need to use anything but your hands to tighten the oil filter. Also the second quart of oil spilling over was probably because you only let it run for a few seconds after the first quart. Give it a couple quick reves next time to circulate the oil before the second quart is put in. I always check the dipstick after I put in the first batch of oil to see that the level has gone down before adding the remaining oil.

Also, hopefuly you didn't crack the case cover when tightening down the oil filter with the pipe wrench.

did you replace the filter or use the same one? it may be the filter, if not take it off and screw it back in, tighting it , the threads maybe stripped.

Well, that'll do it. Glad it was an easy fix. Don't forget to check the oil level again. Might want to wash and degrease it a little to

it leaked so much oil, but instead of goign through the entire process of everything, can i just pout oil in, and then start it up for a sec, then pout in more until its at the right level? will it be entirely acuarate while its cold?, or hot?

You don't need to drain the oil again. Just add it until it's at the correct level. If the tank is empty fill it till it's between the marks and start it up, let it run for 5-10 seconds and give it a couple quick revs (not high revs) then check the level again. Add until between the marks, let it warm up and the turn it off, wait a minute or so and check the level again.
