Default Banshee sitting for a year..help

My banshee has been non-operational for a year or some. What should i do? Take it to a michanic to have a look? or is there something that i could do about it? I mean, is there any possibility that serius damage has been done? What is needed to be done for the bike?
Thx in advance.

when you let it sit did you leave gas in it? First thing you need to do is drain the gas, change spark plugs, clean carb, change oil, etc.

if yer really worried about it... change the oil and filter... do the other stuff.. take it out for a day, then change the oil/oil filter again... check to see how dark the oil gets in that 1 day of riding....

I didn't think so, but the original owner of my Banshee sent me an oil filter with the owners manual...and it through me for a loop.

If you do this you should be ok. Make sure the fuel line is not clogged up.

Also check make sure nothing is living in the airbox...happened to my friend on his dirtbike...a squrriel was living in there and nuts got sucked in and messed up his piston and rings.
