well, all of us on here have 4wheelers, so we all gotta have trucks to haul them, and you aint cool unless you got a cd player in your truck..... lol, anyways. i just got a '89 silverado, and im puttin my CD player from my sonoma into the new truck, and i cant figure out how to... i went behind the stock radio and cut them wires.... all 4 or 5 of them, and i know i am missing wires somewhere, cuz i cant even find the antenna wire thing. so could any of my fellow chevy truck owners give me a hand on hookin up my cd player...? i got a blaupunkt cd player and i got the wiring harness the hooks into the back of the CD player.... the rest is a mistery to me.... the cd player came with my old truck, and i cant live without my cds...... lol.

On that model and year of truck, it is the one that has the radio by the column shifter and the tape player in the middle in the dash, right? On this model, the radio's internal amp is not in the radio, it is seperate under the dash. Stick your head underneath the the dash by the footpedals behind the ashtray. You will see a silver box with wires in a harness that plugs into the box. Take the bolts out of the bracket, this will give you room to twist it a little to get the rest of the wires out of the top of the box. (It won't come out completely because there is more bolts up top. Only way to get it out completely is to remove the whole dash). Then, get a coat hanger and send it through the middle of the dash to the box where you unplugged the wires. The wires up top are for the speakers power, etc. The wires on the bottom are for the stock radio and tape player (Shouldn't have cut these). Your antenna is there too. Tie the wires to the hanger and pull them through. Go to Wal-Mart and get the wiring harness for that truck, the antenna extension, and the bracket for the dash (Be about $35.00). The wires on the harness are all marked correctly on this harness, just match the colors between the radio harness and the Wal-Mart harness and butt-connect them together. Plug it in to the radio and the harness that you pulled through the dash, plug in the antenna extension, and put it in the dash. If you need anything else, my email is Chevy181@aol.com, I don't check my PM's on here very often.
P.S. For all that work, get rid of the Blaupunkt and get a T.V.
