i just read the test between the raptor and banshee and they said that they basically tied but in the long runs the raptor slowly started to pull away so maybe the ds might still be king but who knows until they come out and we get some real tests, lata

No, you are mis-informed. Production units have not been delivered to the magazines yet. The current machines being tested are in fact in the care of Yamaha. They decide where, how, and what they will be with. Once the magazine guys get a long term test machine(production unit) they will have a big, in depth shootout.
If these were production units, why didn't they have the carb update to prevent fuel sloshing around in the bowl. I'll tell you. A production unit is what you get from the dealer. Pre-production units are assembled from assembly line parts. Pre-production prototypes are the final design and are usually the factories test mules.

The most recent mag I have read is Sept. Dirt Wheels. It in not a production unit. I don't get the other mags until much later in the month. If they tested a Raptor against a Banshee in a shoot out how did it fare?
