My 03 rap is over a year and a half old and it still looks great with a coat of armour all on the black plastic. All of them will show stress marks except the white, and that gets pretty dirty quick too.

I assure you that the raptor can take a lot. The stock steering stem and handlebars are notoriously weak though. I know, I have been through 2 sets of bars and I reinforced my stock stems and still bent 2.

I think the liquid cooling components wouldnt be your primary concern. Maybe an upper a arm or tie rod though.

I've rolled mine 3 times...flipped it once and been t boned from both sides and all I ever hurt was my pride, nuts and ankles..but never hurt the cooling system...oh ya there was that tree in Flagstaff I hit and a branch came thru my radiator but that was easy to repair.... but I gott 12 stitches in my a$$ that hurt for a couple weeks but only when I farted real loud.

V-Force:

A good buddy of mine has a V-Force and they are pretty fun to ride. We've raced a couple times and my Raptor is a little faster, and I mean a VERY little. However, the V-Force is very heavy, and even though the engine and suspension make it "feel" pretty light, it's very evident in tight trails compared to my Raptor.

You may also want to look at the DS, it's new configuration is much better.

However if you're like me and like Yamaha the Raptor is a fine machine. You'll be happy with the upgrade. I know first hand since my 00 Warrior went in on my 03 Raptor.

Yes, if you are a Yamaha fan then the Raptor is the only way to go.
