I work for the groundwater restoration division of the EPA and would like to point out that the findings of this report are meant to suggest measures of regulation to establish environmental quality barriers. Decisions to regulate the industry, whether that means banning certain engines or simply requiring manufacturers to meet higher standards is strictly the role of the legislature.

That said, here is a link to the regulatory document in question:

http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/nonroad...sal/d01004.pdf

However, this document is 310 pages.

For further reading on the subject, visit http://cave.epa.gov and search the OLS database for the subject of two stroke engines.

Happy Reading.

You don't have to preach to me. I am on your side. However, the fault of such legislative action belongs to the legislature themselves. The EPA is a research organization.

I won't go into the details of why the EPA made the suggestions it has. Its all in the report. Anyone who understands good science should have no trouble finding reason in the arguments. Justification however, lies within the realm of opinion.

well if you want to look at it anything thats smokes actually creates polution most of the time and a 2 stroke quad or bike will never put out the smoke as a big factory

ill tell you what puts out more smoke than any two stroke is is our government. what happend was, is the atv company's aint giving money to them liberals for their campaign. so they got pissed and figured out a way to get in their pocket books. we pay for their bs, by not having the banshee continued and other two strokes. if they were serious about stoping ozone problems, you think they would start with the big producers of polution. but they can't so they pick on the small guys. bias bs is all that is,, we should ban liberals from breathing, it would help the ozone by not allowing co2 to enter our atmosphere.
