Default just changed the oil on my 660raptor

it will be easier next time. really liked the screw on oil filter. however i over filled the oil resevoir by just a quarter of a inch on the dip stick. i wonder if it will hurt anything. or should i remove some of the oil where it registers on full.??????
also wondering if i should remove the baffle, i think it's keeping it from opening up to it's potential???? if i do remove the baffle from the exhauast. it won't be running lean will it, or will i have to rejet??????i asked this question last week. my friends stock raptor seems to run better with the baffle removed????? does anyone know>????

when u change oil you fill the resevior up to about the full line or so.. and then start it up and lett it run for about 20 secons or so then shut off and fill it the rest of the wya up.. provided u did drain the oil out of the crankcase.. then you should be good to go.. so dont worry abut gettint it rightg to the full mark until u run it for a few seconds.. i dont think a little bit past the full mark will matter..

you should pull the baffle out everyone arond here says it runs rich from the factory and w/ the baffle removed it opens it up enoguh to make it run good but to really get the potention

pipe, jet, filter then u got a quad,, and also put a 12t front sprocket on

yah, i started it after putting almost two quarts in the resevoir, it sucked it inot the crank case. i then added a little to much on the very end. it's reading a quarter inch past the full line after riding it for a short period of time. i guess i need to drain some of it.

A quarter inch over full is not gonna hurt 1 single thing. I have ran mine slightly over many times.

I removed the baffle on my 04 and it runs fine and seems to have gained a little power. Also, it sounds a little meaner so people dont think it's pu$$y.

i pulled out the baffle and tossed it into the trash can. i destroyed the baffle while trying to remove it. I ended up using wd40 and a chisel and a BFH. it finally came out. the bike has better throttle response. it's , more crisper. it sounds better also. i also noticed the bike pulls harder and the front end wants to come up more. cheapest performance mod i have ever done. it's definetely noticeable on take off???
the oil situation i ended up adding oil to it today. the bike showed between the full and low mark. i gues after changing the oil, it needed time to get into the crank case. it now registers slightly below the full mark.. no problems or leaks. i use 20.50 castrol motorcycle oil. non synthetic from wal mart 1.50 a quart. and a bosch 3300. seems to work just fine

04 raptor
dg rear skid,

can't wait to rejet, and ad a K&N filter and a yo yo slip on.
