#1
I had my engine f-up and now it needs repairs this is what the shop told me..
3 intake valves- $115.90
2 exhaust valves - $173.55
Rocker arm - $26
Cam chain - $79 ( i found it on ripper racing for $23.50) whats up with that?
top gasket - $108
6 flywheel screws - $5.99
Rebuild top end labor and put the bike back together - $360
$927.11 total.....
PLUS a week prior to this i had to buy a...
One way bearing and gear L&a designs - $250
Redline heavy duty clutch kit - $110
Oil tank - $130
then another 2 hours labor for install on the one way which lead to the discovery of the rest of the broken bike - $120
$610 total......
Grand Total of... $1537.11
and before this i dropped around $2,000 into the 686 kit
then i have bought paddle tires and all that
i bought the bike for $5,000 im into it about $11,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ONE way or another i have got to get this fixed and once i do theres no sense in selling it because im in way over my head.. ... with having to do all this work any suggestions for aftermarket valves/? bigger?? rocker arms?? make the head flow better??
AND HOW CAN I PREVENT MISHAPS LIKE THIS IN THE FUTURE?? I change the oil every time we go out and filter i run 100 + octane i dont know what im doing wrong plus i dont ride it much because its always broken
Help would be greatly appreciated i have to make a decision soon!

They seem to be using all OEM parts at full price and then some. Tell them youll collect all the parts and bring them to them. Thats what I usually do. Heck, my mechanic usually just calls me and tells me what I need and asks if I want to order it or if I want him to get it. The labor seems a bit pricey too though, its going to take them 6 hours to put it all together? they must not be very very very slow,

$190.31
they said
$510.53
A difference of
$320.22
WOW that makes me feel so much better im so pissed at that shop right now i guess its hard to find an honest dealer anymore!! im gonna flat out go in there and tell them whats up and tell them that i am not gonna pay that much and tell them that they just lost all my business and any business i would refer to them.. anyone know a good 4 stroke mechanic in utah? Heck i might do it myself.... HOw long should a job like this take a shop?? the main cost for shop work is 60 bucks an hour im wondering HOW LONG SHOULD THIS TAKE>. 6 hours... i belive the 2 hours they told me to do the one way and the clutch but 6 hours for the top end is ridiculous to me.. how hard is the labor on a job like this.. i have every tool i could ever need and the owners manual and im pretty hand with a wrench... what do you think?
