Default Help Raptor Problem

I have not had my valves on the raptor adjusted since my first service, i had the dealer do my "first service" only for the fact that they said if i didnt it would void out my 6month warranty when i got the bike. I have many hours on it since the rebuild.... When i rev the motor it shoots out a cloud of smoke...im thinking that this is oil and it is caused my by valves being off...it did not do this up until lately, and seems to only get worse as i ride and i seem to have a decent power loss, especially mid to top end on my powerband. I dont believe i have any motor damage caused by my recent incident with the oil drain plug.

I know how to take the motor apart somewhat, and i have the clymer book on it but im wondering if i am able to do a valve adjustment myself if i were to go buy feeler guages????żżżż

Any help would be appreciated!

I think you may have scored/damaged the piston/rings/cylinder bore to be blowing smoke and loosing power like that after loosing the drain plug bolt. I read your previous post. Did you have this smoky exhaust prior to loosing the drain bolt? How long has it been since your last valve adjustment, amount of hours on the quad?

GOD I WISH I KNEW...i would say i have about 100 hours on it, and it has appeared fine up until lately....it was just the other day that i lost the oil drain plug and posted my previous topic about it all....It did it but only a little, not like it is now.... My buddy said it was doing it only not quite as bad; as he was riding behind me on the trails just previous to the incident that happened as i was going dpwn the road. I really hear the valves mostly when i lugg the engine in 2nd or any other gear then barly get on it, its all in the top end and seems to be valve lash....

run a compression check on it just to be safe, you can buy feeler gauges from a local auto parts store.
