New Raptor 350!
#1
Hi all,
after much debate, I went out and got me and the wife a couple of the raptor 350s. These are our first quads ever, before today I have never even ridden a quad. So I am excited! Anyways, can anyone help me along the way to fun riding? Things like how to break them in and keep them in good shape and so forth? And of course where I could go for some upgrades. Thanks a ton!

Hey nurider welcome to the world of quads. I hope you enjoy your new Raptor 350's. I know that I was very glad that i bought my wife a quad when I got mine so that we could ride together. The Yamaha dealer catalog should have some accessories for your 350. You should also keep your eyes open for deals in some of the quad magazines as well as ebay. You might not find too much at first on ebay for the new 350, but as time progresses you will find that more and more accessories for your quad will pop up at bargain prices on ebay.
Have a good time getting to know your quad, and hope to hear more from you on here

welcome to the forum, you purchased two good machines. i used to own a warrior. and my opinion the raptor 350 is just an upgraded version of the warrior. for as breaking them in, i agree you don't want to run them wide open for the first ten hours. a couple seconds won't hurt though. I changed my oil after breaking in my warrior after 10 hours of riding. i also cleaned my filter, and cleaned my oil filter and re used it. you will find allot of metal shavings in your filter for the first two oil changes so don't be alarmed. it's just due to the motor breaking in new parts. the second oil change didn't have near as many shavings, and the third oil change there was just a real small amount/ nothing to worry about though.
i would put a new swing arm rear skid plate on the bike first thing. you bought a tuff quad, good luck
