my buddy just bought a 2002 banshee with prosercate pipes (sorry bout the spelling), a k&n airfilter, and jetting. i just bought a 2004 raptor and after breaking it in, we raced. it was on a gravel road about 1/2 mile long. i had him until i toped out. it wasnt by much, but i still thought this was wired. the only thing i can think of, is his tires are at 3/4 tread left. can n e one help me figure this out?

He was probably spinning too much to hook up and didnt let off the gas enough to get traction. Otherwise, he probably needs to get his jetting correct.

btw, pro-circuit. Does he have pipes, silencers, or both?

This is a hard post to respond to...I don't want this to turn into a fighting match on why one or the other machine did not win. We did this race just this past weekend.

My banshee is nothing special in the engine dept. FMF pipes, reeds, bored over a couple of times.

We did that exact thing that I yell at people for. I live in the country and the road is pretty empty as far as cars go..exactly two miles long and strait. I would say we raced about half that distance. My friend was very very shocked and admitted it. I wasted him big time. Granted I did not have a chance to look back since my cheeks were starting to vibrate themselves back towards my ears He says he was about 20-30 ft back.

He admitted that there was no way he was catching back up to me.

Remember this was just one race....maybe if he got the jump, He would have been the one in front. My banshee has a fresh top end and is jetted spot on at the moment (until the weather changes again).
